Guangdong, China

I like South China because I enjoy the lush green trees that are everywhere, and I also like the slightly damp feeling on my skin from the humidity and sweat. Last year, I was wondering if I should move to a small city in the south and find a job to live a simple, ordinary life.

I live in Jiangsu, which is in the middle of China — not quite the north, but not really the south either. Before I went to the south for the first time, I used to listen to the song “South” by the band Dada a lot. Although the song is about Wuhan, located in the Huazhong plain — which I don’t really consider the true south — it still made me curious about what the south would actually be like.
